Soundwave Festival Croatia 2009
Here it is people, the one we’ve been waiting for… Soundcrash has joined forces with New Bohemia to bring you an entire festival, by the sea, in Croatia...
Imagine if you will the best Soundcrash and New Bohemia line-ups that you can – now take that line-up and picture it, not in a dark and dingy club, but next to a clear blue sea, spread out over 3 days, 3 arena’s and a boat. All for less than the price of a return train ticket to Glastonbury!
The festival site is in the gorgeous surroundings of Petrcane, close to Zadar, A fishing village on a peninsular where the Dalmation Coast meets The Adriatic Sea. For those in the know it will be recognised as the same sight that the Garden Festival is held. It has an outside Amphitheatre for live acts, a Beach Side Terrace for day & night time dancing and a 600 capacity nightclub for the beats to go on right through the night.
At this beautiful site you can swim in the glistening Adriatic, dance on the beach under the stars, join us aboard a swashbuckling Boat Party, get your groove on to a Funktion 1 Soundsystem in a retro Studio 54 styled nightclub or relax beneath the pines along the forested coastline.
You can come and stay for a week or just a long weekend, there’s plenty to see and do and there will be entertainment and shenanigans provided for the duration. Musical entertainment will take place on a terraced bar on by the sea for day and night-time dancing, an outside amphitheatre overlooking the ocean for live acts, the nightclub and of course not forgetting the Boat Party.

The nearest airport to the village of Petrcane is:
Zadar (20 mins), followed by Split (90 mins) or Zagreb (3hr).
Flight prices do vary massively, don’t be put off if the first one’s you see are expensive, there are cheap ways to travel out there – by flying to an airport slightly further a field you can get flights for under £70. (Trieste and other Italian airports are generally very cheap, as is Rijeka)
For those of you who are Eco-minded, if you want to save on your carbon footprint, and the indent on your wallet, Soundwave are also looking at running a very reasonably priced bus to and from Croatia, please email noahball@hotmail.com to register your interest in the party bus!! (Please do not buy tickets yet for Soundwave if the bus is your only travel method)
For those with more time for an adventure then other airport options in Croatia are Rijeka, Pula or Dubrovnik. Also not too far away are Ljubljana in Slovenia with Easyjet and Trieste in Italy with Ryanair.
