This is brought to the world by 3 humble Liverpudlian’s who go by the collective name ‘No Fakin’ DJ’s’. Illson, Kwinzola and Fred rip it up from beginning to end, scratched and mixed to perfection, the tunes are kept funky and flowin’ all the way through. With shout-outs from Chali 2na to DJ Format and DJ Vadim to Edan, it shows what is achievable through being right with people as well as being gifted in the set.
It’s helped along by MC Kwasi (Fat City’s ‘Friends & Family’ BBQ bashes), who hosts in his own unique way. It’s not that easy to come by this mix and it has a special place on my shelf. You’ve got Lyrics Born, Chali 2na and De La Soul sharing disc space with the likes of Grease, Jackson 5 and Bob Marley. Throw in funk rarities , Z-Trip and a bit of Orishas and you’ve got probably the best party mix around.
Massive respect to three charming guys that put pleasure in to the headphones of the fortunate owners of this mix. Catch them live, I guarantee you will be sweating from head to toe, they really move a crowd.
