October Release’s Roundup

Dap-C “The Richest Misfit”

Hailing from Newcastle Dap-C has had previous releases on Nottingham label Sin-Nombre Records, and since then he has gone on to found his own label NGU Records. The album features the recent Channel U hit “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” featuring UK hip hop heavyweight Skinnyman and S.Kalibre. A solid release from Dap-C and his next album looks big with verses from Canibus, Raekwon and Kool G Rap due in 2008. www.myspace.com/dapc

Various - “Foresight: Urban”

This is a compilation album from Casual Records featuring some up coming artists. Foresight is a project to help develop and gain recognition for underground acts with the public and the music industry. The album appears to come more from a R&B/Soul vibe but there are a couple of good quality outings for Artcha (One Crew) on “Wait a Minute” and Dubbledge give’s us a guest spot with his usual expert skills on Lloyd De Meza’s “Truth of the Matter”.

Jill Scott - “The Real Thing: Words & Sounds Vol. 3″

This is the 3rd album to be released by Grammy winner Jill Scott, featuring big production from Scott Storch, Adam Blackstone and many notable others. This is a poetic album of R&B hits and her new single “Hate on Me” is an intense powerhouse of a track. You can catch Jill Scott in Glasgow 17/11, Manchester 18/11, Birmingham 20/11, Bristol 21/11 and at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire 2/3/5 December.

you don’t have to be talented in this business to go far

pity these cats that have the gift of the gabba on the street can’t correlate it in the studio

Mmmm yeah have to agree on Dap C (although Tricksta won’t thank me for saying so ;-) )

I got sent that Foresight compilation as well… okay in parts, I thought “Time” by Instinct was one of the better cuts on there (which is not saying all that much) and although ‘Edge does his thing the track he appears on is ruined by Lloyd-De-Whatever’s utter wackness.
