UK Runnings - theurbanshop.co.uk Mixtape (Review)

A couple of weeks ago I was sent “Tricksta Presents… UK Runnings - TheUrbanShop.co.uk Mixtape CD”, a non-stop UK Hip-Hop mixtape featuring Blak Twang, Roots Manuva, Ty, Rodney P, Klashnekoff, Kyza, Turbucolisis, Kid Radical and many more… whilst including a 20 minute “roots mix” at the end of the CD.
For this installment of the UK runnings series, Tricksta has teamed up with www.theurbanshop.co.uk to offer another exceptionally strong mix. Tricksta’s selection, edges towards a more Reggae influenced selection of UK Hip Hop to offer a more laid back instalment rather than the more hardcore - grime influenced CD’s I have encountered previously. Highlights for me have to be 10Shott and Ty’s Closer whilst some of the artists I’m not so familiar provided some of the stronger tracks on here.
The Urban Shop has been advertised on Channel U and is going from strength to strength and hopefully their continued support of the UK Runnings CD series will continue so that we can enjoy more high quality mixtapes from Tricksta and the rest of Wolftown.
