50 Cent’s New Album Moved Back A Week

This morning I was reliably informed the new Fiddy album “Curtis” will be moved back a week for its release in September as far as I am concerned the album should be moved back to the year 5000 but that must just be me?

Most music consumers must love filling the deep pockets of 50 Cent. S*it, most combined to buy millions of copies of his terribly mediocre debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin’, the even worse “Massacre” and also combined to buy, at least, a million copies of his G-Unit cohorts’ respective albums. Some also must love listening to his tired, generic thug bravado and wannabe-intimidating lyrics repeatedly. After all, there has to be a reason why someone with little discernible talent is constantly infecting the radio and television waves with his dreadful sound. It would be no wonder if we receive the same thing on his new release since it’s what makes his pockets bigger – something that he admits as his reason for rapping. Nobody said that he would actually find a way to degrade himself even more.

By now, it is obvious that there’s no reason to find creative progression on a G-Unit release. The Game’s album The Documentary may have bucked that trend for a short period, but basically all there is on G-Unit albums are bland braggadocio attempts, generic gangsta threats, and laughable attempts to appeal to the opposite sex through materialism. It’s also obvious that 50, admitting that he believes that artistic credibility doesn’t pay the bills, would mainly keep doing what makes him richer – the continuance of pushing out thoughtless material. Those can be the only reasons why several tracks on here will have him reciting uncreative lyrics and reusing several themes that have been in commercial rap for eons now.

All that remains to do is to watch this album rise on the charts, while artistic credibility again takes a backseat to commercial success.
