Brighton Hip Hop Festival 2007 Under Threat!!?
Published by Chris June 12th, 2007 in News.After receiving an email this evening from one of my contacts down in Brighton, who told me that the Brighton Hip-Hop Festival, that was due to get underway at the end of the month, may have to be cancelled due to the fact they have lost their funding. How dissappointing for these guys who all work hard all year for free in order to put together a fortnight of community events and an all day gig headlining some of the best in UK Hip Hop. It’s absolutely appalling to tell the organisers less than a month before an event of this scale that they are not going to give them any money when they have already pre-booked the acts and the venues to hold the events…

Its bad news that the UK loses a much needed festival but it aint good that the organisers waited til a month before it was due to start to ask for money (thats what the council said on the politics show) and only had 2 grand out of the 42 grand they needed expecting the council to stump up the rest. Like most of uk hip hop, people run it badly and it shows up the people in this country as amatures.
