Leeds Hip Hop Scene

As some of our regular readers will know Pat D is one of my top producers in the UK right now, he has that laid back, down tempo, Dilla-esque production cracked and for his second release on his own label A Bridge Too Far Recordings (ABTF) he has teamed up with the Midland’s own MC Lady Paradox to produce an entire album. Pat was featured in Hip Hop Connections top singles of 2006 and I’m sure he may feature again this year as his album drops in the next few weeks.

I’ve not heard of any Lady Paradox’s tracks before I copped this pre-release and I must say I am impressed, often I have found female MC’s seem to struggle as the beats are too “big” for their delivery but I think the jazzy style of Pat’s production really seems to complement Lady P’s softly spoken vocals. The album features guest appearances from Logan, Sam Sure, Lauren Jade, Selone and Karizma who all offer an added dimension to the tracks on offer giving the entire album the soundtrack vibe that you’ll want to stick on you CD player whilst your sat in your gardens or on your balconies these summer nights.

Pat D has done it again with some wonderful tracks,  partnering himself with only highly talented individuals. If your going to buy a CD to chill out and unwind to during those warm summer days and nights ahead it has to be this one.
