K? Media Presents – Leeds City Vol.1 Mix CD
Published by Editor February 2nd, 2007 in Local, Music Reviews.

It’s not often you hear an entire city coming together to work on a project, dedicated to raise awareness of the urban scene in that particular area. K? Media, as quoted from the official website is a “powerful tool capable of developing personalised marketing and distribution solutions to quality unsigned artists”. One of the most notorious Leeds-based companies have released a mix of material, from artists located in the North of the UK. (often an entire quarter of the country that constantly gets overlooked). The result, a 24-strong track compilation, of the best unsigned artists that reside in this land today.
The line up includes the likes of the Yorkshire Terrierz, Double D Dagger, Kockee and J Bravo, amongst many others. The Yorkshire Terrierz submit “Hero” to the compilation, and don’t fail to deliver on their highly anticipated contribution. The likes of Dogge, and Low-Key display their multi-syllabic ability, and make “Hero” one of the highlights of the mixtape. D-Bizzy from Double D Dagger explodes on “Pimpology”. The quick-fire track illustrates why Double D Dagger ARE extremely dangerous, and are certainly one of the acts to look out for in 2007.
The album in general is a true representation of the vast array of talent, and sets a solid foundation for the Leeds urban scene. With so many parties getting involved, and heavily spreading the word, artists on the mixtape can look forward to plenty of great things to come. Only time will tell before the likes of Double D Dagger, the Yorkshire Terrierz, and Kockee will become household names, and “Double O” will be a well-known anthem.
